What is Matrixyl 3000

The results generated by the clinical studies show excellent anti-wrinkle efficacy for MATRIXYL™ 3000 after 2 months of daily application: reduction in the volume (-18%) and depth of deep wrinkles (-15%) giving rise to smoother skin (-14% roughness) and a “lifted surface (-16% complexity) which, in the cutometric study, was reflected in a improvement in tone (+15%). The percentage decrease in the number and amplitude of the wrinkles on the analyzed surface was very strong (-44%). This effect was also correlated with the visible difference between T0 and T56, as illustrated by the photographs. 

Matrikines, small endogenous peptides derived from matrix proteolysis, are cell messerngers able to regulate the sequence of events required for skin repair (wound healing). To a certain degree, wrinkles may be considered localized defects due to deficient repair related to the ageing of the cutaneous functions of tissue repair and turnover. With the matrikine combination, it is possible to recreate conditions conducive to cell and matrix turnover. 

The two peptides, Pal-GHK and Pal-GQPR, combined in the product MATRIXYL™ 3000, showed a complementary gene activation profile with stimulation of protein remodeling (urokinase, TIMP1, Iysyl oxidase, tenascin, syndecan), and cell proliferation, migration and installation (EGF, PDGF, Rho, ά-catenin, laminin, fibronectin). Moreover, epidermal function progressed toward microvascularization and innervation (VEGF and ephrin). 

In vitro, the two peptides showed synergistic effects on the synthesis of collagen 1, fibronectin and hyaluronic acid.

A clinical trial conducted in 2 groups of 24 subjects enabled comparison of the benefits obtained with MATRIXYL™ 3000 vs. MATRIXYL™  and MATRIXYL™ 3000 vs. placebo, thus validating the synergistic approach adopted by combining the two peptides.  

After 2 months of daily application of MATRIXYL™ 3000 (3% formula, the following points were observed:

§         reduction in the mean depth of the main wrinkle (-15%) and in its volume (-18%)

§         reduction in roughness (-14%) and complexity (-16%), a surface “lifting parameter,

§         decrease in the area occupied by deep wrinkles (> 200 µm) (-44%), giving rise to a decrease in density (+15%). 

While the difference between MATRIXYL™ 3000, and MATRIXYL™ was not statistically significant, the enhanced efficacy of the former product was illustrated by a 1.3- to 1.6-fold greater improvement in the profilometric parameters of crow’s feet. The difference in the beneficial actions of the two products is to be related to the expected synergistic effect. Synergy was observed in vitro for the mixture of Pal-GQPR and Pal-GHK matrikines, vs. Pal-KTTKS, and suggest an even more positive activity after longer term application of MATRIXYL™ 3000.

 What is Alpha–lipoic acid (ALA): ALA is a completely natural antioxidant molecule that is present in every cell of our bodies. Like vitamin C, it has been well-known to scientists for many years, but in the past ten years intensive research has shown how beneficial this substance can be, both when applied topically and taken orally. Here are the benefits of alpha lipoic acid: 1- is both water- and fat-soluble, which makes it a universal antioxidant, able to work both on the surface of cells and deep within them, as opposed to vitamin C (water-soluble) and vitamin E (fat-soluble), which can fight free radicals either on the surface or within the cell, but not both. As a result of this universal solubility, ALA can increase the positive effects of other antioxidants as opposed to vitamin C water-soluble) and vitamin E (fat-soluble), which can fight free radicals either on the surface or within the cell, but not both. As a result of this universal solubility, ALA can increase the positive effects of other antioxidants. The presence of ALA in cells helps preserve other levels, such as vitamin C, E, and glutathione, giving skin cells extra protection. 2- ALA is the only antioxidant that can increase a cell’s metabolism, which tends to slow down with aging. It helps the cell increase its energy production and capacity to heal. 3- ALA plays a very special role when it comes to quelling inflammation, the condition that precedes lines and wrinkles. It prevents the cell from producing the types of eicosanoids (cytokines) that damage the cell in the first place. But it also does something else: It activates a factor within the cell that turns on enzymes that actually digest collagen that has already been damaged by free radicals. That is why the topical application of ALA results in remarkable fading and improvement in wrinkles and facial scars. 4- ALA helps prevent the toxic effects of too much sugar in the cell. Excess cellular sugar attaches to just about every protein in the body in a process called glycation. When sugar attaches to collagen, it results in cross-linking of the collagen, which makes it stiff and inflexible—like a cooked egg white. Alpha lipoic acid helps reverse the attachment of sugar to collagen by allowing better metabolism of sugar by the cell, thus preventing the accelerated aging of collagen from sugar’s toxic effects. 5- ALA helps promote the healthy production of nitric oxide, a substance that helps control blood flow to the skin (which is also the basis for the effect of the drug Viagra, increasing blood flow to the penis). This increased blood flow decreases swelling and edema, thus reducing under-eye puffiness. It also gives the skin the healthy glow of increased circulation.. 6-ALA helps decrease reddiness and large pores for reasons that aren’t clearly understood.

What is DMAE: DMAE is an antioxidant found in abundance in fish. When mixed with nutrients and other antioxidants and applied topically, it can improve the appearance of sagging skin,  which results not just from free radical damage to collagen, but also to the nerves and muscles underneath the skin. Muscle tone and contraction are caused by the release of neurochemicals, specifically acetylcholine, at the neuromuscular junction—the microscopic space where the nerve acts on the underlying muscle. Colhibin is a biological plant-derived inhibitor of collagenases enzymes or Matrix

MetalloProteinases (MMP)/ an extraordinary collagen protecting properties. UV radiation can damage collagen fibers (the major structural protein in the skin) and cause accumulation of abnormal elastin (the protein that causes tissue to stretch). During the process, large amounts of enzymes called collagenases or Matrix MetalloProteinases (MMP) are produced. The normal function of these enzymes is to remodel the injured tissue by synthesizing and reforming collagen.

This is an imperfect process, however, and to achieve it, some of these enzymes actually degrade collagen. The result is an uneven formation (matrix) of disorganized collagen fibers called solar scars. If this process of imperfect skin rebuilding occurs over and over, wrinkles result. One study indicated that when people with light to moderate skin color are exposed to sunlight for just five to 15 minutes, MetalloProteinases remain elevated for about a week. The destruction of collagen results in the signs of skin aging, visible in the formation of wrinkles and decreasing elasticity. Colhibin is able to block the very damaging effect of collagenases induced by sun radiation. Colhibin is the result

of a carefully and biologically engineered isolated fraction of natural rice peptides. In a study with 20 human volunteers and after 15 days of using formulations with Colhibin a significant reduction of the skin surface roughness is shown, therefore Colhibin is proven the improve the smoothness and protect the skin from early sign of aging. In vitro study on human keratinocytes: demonstrated that Preregen can inhibit the destructive action of ozone on these skin cells. Preregen showed a protection of more than 80% at 288 ppm Ozone. Another clinical study was conducted in 10 female subjects on the anti-irritant effect of Preregen, the results was that Preregen reduced the irritation by 70% after 4 hours. In addition to the above studies Preregen showed that when applied to dry skin it improved the skin firmness and moisture level within 2 weeks of application. Preregen is proved to be an excellent in compacting the effects of environmental aggressors that cause premature aging, excellent anti-irritant for sensitive stressed skin and improves skin firmness as well as moisture level.
